Kroos, a legend at Real Madrid, announced this week that he would retire after Euro 2024, prompting an outpouring of support from teammates, coaches, fans, and more. Ronaldo, a star for Al-Nassr and a Real teammate of the German international from 2014 to 2018, was among those who sent their best wishes. The legendary Portuguese player wished the 34-year-old the best of luck in the future and called it a “honour” to have played with him at one point.
Ronaldo wrote, “(Thanks) for everything, Toni! “on Kroos’ Instagram shot. Sharing the pitch with you is a tremendous privilege. Good luck with your future endeavors!
Kroos had a spectacular career, winning ten championships with Bayern Munich (including the Champions League in 2013) and another twenty-one while playing for Real Madrid. Now he wants to end his career on a high note by helping Germany win Euro 2024 at home and Los Blancos win the Champions League for a record 15th time.
On Saturday, Kroos will participate in Madrid’s final La Liga match against Real Betis. On June 1, they will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final. On June 14, his German national team will face Scotland in the opening match of Euro 2024.
