Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has already made contact with Fenerbahce president Ali Koc over a summer transfer, according to Fotospor.
The Ghana international had another injury-plagued campaign with the Gunners and he managed only 882 minutes across all competitions.
With his contract expiring in June 2025, there is already speculation over his future and Fotospor claim that he could move to Fenerbahce.
The club’s president Ali Koc has already held a meeting with the 30-year-old, but he has asked the midfielder to wait for a formal bid.
Koc is currently awaiting the result of the presidential election results next month. If he continues at the helm, a transfer proposal could be made to Arsenal.
ARSENAL SHOULD PART WAYS WITH PARTEY THIS SUMMER
Partey started the final five games of the Premier League season, but the Gunners should still consider his exit due to his worrying injury record.
The midfielder has missed more than 70 games for the club since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and he is no longer a reliable option.
He is currently one of the highest earners at £200,000 per week. Arsenal should get him off their wage bill in order to sign a fit and younger defensive midfielder.
Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has been linked with the club for some time, but it does not appear the Spaniard is prepared to consider a new challenge yet.
In our view, Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes could be an ideal successor. The Brazilian has tremendous fitness levels and has already adapted to the league.
Guimaraes currently has a release clause worth £100 million in his contract. With Newcastle in a tight financial situation, Arsenal could persuade them to accept less.
