OFFICIAL: Vincent Kompany will reunite with former teammate John Stones after taking the position of head coach at Bayern Munich

According to information from Football Insider, coach Vincent Kompany wants to reunite with his former teammate John Stones at Bayern Munich if he is officially appointed.

Who does Kompany want as his first new recruit at Bayern?

 

European media today (May 24) simultaneously reported that Burnley coach Kompany is taking the final steps before officially becoming Thomas Tuchel’s successor at Bayern.

Negotiations are actively going on, both sides are expected to complete the agreement in the next few days. The only problem  between Bayern and Burnley is the compensation fee.  Burnley wants to earn 20 million pounds while Bayern is only willing to pay 10 million pounds. With stable financial potential, Bayern will soon solve this problem.

If the deal is successful, it is likely that the Belgian strategist will bring all his close associates at Burnley to the Allianz Arena. And yet, the 38-year-old coach will ask the Bavarian club’s leadership to recruit a few more recruits to serve his football philosophy in the new 2024/25 season.

According to Football Insider, one of the first signatures that Kompany wants to own is former teammate Stones – a player currently playing for Man City.

In the past, Kompany and Stones spent 3 years together in the Man City shirt, before the 1986-born captain left Etihad Stadium to return to Belgium to play for Anderlecht Club in 2019. During his time at Man City, Both contributed greatly to helping The Citizens win the Premier League twice.

The current contract between Stones and Man City lasts until June 2026, but Kompany is confident that he can successfully convince the English star to move to Germany to play thanks to the good relationship between the two sides.
