Kоbbie Mainоо and Alejandrо Garnachо are making histоry! Teenagers frоm Manchester United scоre shоcking gоals against Manchester City, fоllоwing in Cristianо Rоnaldо’s fооtsteps.
In the first half of the FA Cup final Manchester City, Garnacho scored the first goal. In the 39th minute, Mainoo extended the team’s lead. At the same time, they made history by being the first adolescents to score in an FA Cup final (2).
After Cristiano Ronaldo scored against Millwall in 2004, Garnacho and Mainoo became the first teenage players to score in an FA Cup final. By scoring in the crucial match, Mainoo becomes the first English teenager to do so since John Sissons of West Ham scored in the 1964 FA Cup final against Preston North End.
With the Red Devils, Mainoo had a productive 2023–24 season in which he appeared in 35 appearances across all competitions, scored five goals, and assisted on three more. He was named to Gareth Southgate’s preliminary 33-man England squad for Euro 2024 after an outstanding performance for Erik ten Hag’s side.
United will be looking to win their first trophy of the season and their second title under Ten Hag, following last season’s Carabao Cup victory. They will be aiming to cling on to their lead.
