The England midfielder stated that following Real Madrid’s Champions League quarterfinal victory against Bayern Munich, he has not communicated with any of his former teammates at Dortmund. The fact that Bellingham received a brief message from fellow countryman Jadon Sancho was, however, revealed.
Bellingham and Sancho spent a one German season together before the winger’s 2021 high-profile move to Manchester United. In the 2020–21 season, they won the DFB Pokal together. The Bundesliga heavyweights and the defending Spanish champions will meet at Wembley in England, pitting the two teams’ finest players against one another.
“I haven’t been in touch with any of them this week,” Bellingham stated on the Real Madrid media channel. Jadon sent me a brief message when we first went through. I had a conversation with Sancho about that. Simply stating, “I’ll see you there,” and similar expressions. Upon my arrival at Dortmund, Jadon was one of the people who immediately took me under his wing. He’s an excellent human being. In the lead-up to the Champions League final, Jude Bellingham reads a message from Jadon Sancho.
On Saturday, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will meet at Wembley in what could be described as a “Jude Bellingham derby,” with the victorious side being awarded the title of best European team.
If Real were to win, Bellingham, who was awarded La Liga Player of the Year after his team won the title, would firmly establish himself as one of, if not the, greatest player in the world right now.
The England international has been sensational in his debut season with Real Madrid, scoring 23 goals and assisting on 12 more. He has a great chance of leading his nation to glory at Euro 2024.
First things first, though: the Champions League final. It will be his first encounter with his former Dortmund teammates since departing the German club last summer. Only then will he join up with the rest of England’s national squad.
When asked by Real Madrid’s official media outlet whether he had spoken to any of their players before the match at Wembley, Bellingham said no.
‘I haven’t had any contact with any of them this week,’ the young man originally said.I received a brief note from Jadon during our initial session. I had a conversation with Sancho about that.
Simply expressing the intention to meet up and all that.
