Supposedly, one Real Madrid player will not be accompanying the club to London on Thursday for the Champions League final.
On Saturday night, Los Blancos will face Borussia Dortmund at Wembley in an attempt to win club football’s most prestigious trophy for the fifteenth time.
Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who contracted the flu earlier this week, will reportedly go to London solo, according to The Sun.Lunin was a hero in the quarterfinal penalty shootout win over Man City, and he did a commendable job filling in for the injured Thibaut Courtois for most of the season.
According to Marca, Lunin will fly in on Friday or Saturday to lessen the likelihood of him spreading his illness, while the Madrid players are expected to arrive in London on Thursday. Photos of Lunin training at home were released by his wife Anastasiia Tomazova this week, leaving Ancelotti with the decision of whether or not to include him.
The inclusion of Lunin in the showcase is far from assured, even if he recovers sufficiently to play.Since Courtois made a triumphant comeback to action at the beginning of the month, Ancelotti finds himself in a predicament, as Lunin is assigned as the cup keeper.
According to the Madrid leader, it is a “very difficult” position since “both of them deserve to play this final.”
