Al-Nassr still has their King Cup of Champions final match against rivals Al-Hilal to watch, so Ronaldo isn’t finished yet. Also coming up soon are the European Championships, where CR7 will spearhead Portugal’s bid for yet another continental crown.

As Fernando Hierro prepares to leave Liga MX for the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo will join forces with another Real Madrid great at Al-Nassr.

According to ESPN, Hierro is reportedly nearing a contract to become the new sports director. The Saudi Pro League runners-up were able to persuade the former Spain and Madrid player to accept a higher offer after he initially rejected their proposal.Hierro will rejoin with Ronaldo at the Saudi club after he moves there. Hierro played for Madrid for fourteen years before departing in 2003 to join Al-Rayyan of Qatar. Following his playing career, he became an assistant coach for the Spanish giants under Ronaldo’s tenure.

In October 2022, Hierro took up the position of sports director at Mexican team Chivas; he will now hold the same position at the Riyadh club. The club has yet to win a trophy since the former Bolton player joined Liga MX, despite making it all the way to the Clausura final in 2023.

In reuniting with Portugal legend Ronaldo, Hierro might sign with Al-Nassr. If he wants to increase the club’s chances of beating Al-Hilal to the Saudi championship next season, he must sign more top players.
