Real Madrid won the C1 Cup – Champions League championship for the 15th time in history after defeating Borussia Dortmund in the final this morning (June 2).

 

 

Real Madrid is the team that has won the Champions League the most times. Carlo Ancelotti is the coach who has lifted the most trophies in this arena. Facing the opponent known as the “king” of the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund did not play badly but still failed. Real Madrid won the most prestigious tournament in Europe for the 15th time.

The German team played better than their opponents in the first half. Dortmund created more opportunities, of which the ball that made them regret the most was Niclas Fullkrug’s shot hitting the post.

 

Dortmund is the better team, has more dangerous opportunities but is unlucky in finishing. Real Madrid struggled. Jude Bellingham was indifferent on the day he faced his old team. After the first goal, Dortmund completely lost the game in the following minutes. By the 83rd minute, they made a mistake in defense and Vinicius Jr. did not miss the opportunity to increase the score to 2-0. Scoring 2 goals in just 10 minutes, Real Madrid extinguished all hopes of the German representative.

Dortmund almost made the match more exciting in the final minutes. Fullkrug put the ball into Real Madrid’s net but the goal was not recognized because of offside. Real Madrid beat Dortmund 2-0 and won the 2023/24 Champions League.

This is Real Madrid’s 15th C1 Cup – Champions League title. However, for the first time in history, Real Madrid won the cup in this tournament without losing a match from the beginning of the tournament (9 wins, 4 draws). As for Toni Kroos, the German midfielder ended his journey with Real Madrid by winning the 6th Champions League championship in his career – a tournament record.
