It has been stated that Jadon Sancho is apparently open to returning to Manchester United, but there is a catch.
Following a deterioration in his relationship with United manager Erik ten Hag—which began in August when he openly complained about being left out of the team—Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January.
Sancho has subsequently regained his form and was a major contributor as his team advanced to Saturday’s Champions League final, where they were defeated by Real Madrid.
Despite rumors that Dortmund are interested in signing Sancho permanently, his future with the club is still up in the air for next season.
According to The Mirror, Sancho is still hopeful of making it at Old Trafford, and United might even talk Dortmund out of a deal. The player knows this, though, and his future with the club is contingent on Ten Hag’s decision to remain as manager.
The fate of Ten Hag is also up in the air; rumors started circulating before the FA Cup final that he was guaranteed to be fired no matter the outcome. After that, United defeated Man City 2-1, which might have bought the Dutchman some extra time.
United paid Dortmund £73 million to sign Sancho in 2021.
The winger has appeared in 82 games for United, scoring 12 goals and assisting on another six.
Sancho said that United manager Garry Ten Hag was using him as a “scapegoat” to explain the team’s poor performance, but he still would not confess or apologize.
United had problems “all the way through” with Sancho, according to January remarks made by Ten Hag.He is currently at Dortmund,’ Ten Hag said Sky Sports. So, problems arose following his signing, which occurred a year prior to my arrival. It is clear that his tenure at Manchester United has been a failure thus far due to the fact that we have encountered problems throughout.
Now he’s returning to Borussia Dortmund, and I hope he has the greatest of luck there. My wish—and I think everyone’s wish—is that he is thriving and succeeding there. Once again, we will see the outcome.
“We have said that before,” Ten Hag replied in response to the question of whether the situation would have been different if the player had apologized. I also like not to reiterate myself every time. It has been made apparent to him what he should do.
According to Ten Hag, Sancho’s lack of playing time against Arsenal in September was a result of his lackluster performance in preseason.
‘I have conducted myself in training extremely well this week.’ and ‘I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!’ were among Sancho’s infuriating social media responses.
