French Olympic squad excludes Mbappé after Thierry Henry’s decision

The proposed French roster for the Olympic Games in Paris does not include Kylian Mbappé, according to manager Thierry Henry.

Mbappé has long stated his ambition to compete at the Olympic Games in his native city of Paris, but with his move to Real Madrid, he may see extensive playing time in the club’s preseason series. Still, Henry had a tough decision to make because the team’s expectations are great and the talent pool he has access to is unparalleled.

“I didn’t draw a line hoping something would happen,” Henry stated.

Until July 3rd, we will have no idea what’s going to happen, but I can give you an actual list. A list that is more grounded in the here and now has been compiled by me. Despite the fact that the list can change. Anyone can come and go as they like.

Though Mbappé has previously expressed a desire to live in Paris, he will now also serve as captain of the French national team for Euro 2024. The French Olympic team has a tough group that also includes the US, Guinea, and New Zealand.

They are considered a strong contender for the victory. France emerged victorious in the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles.

French choices:

Goalkeepers: Guillaume Restes (Toulouse), Robin Risser (Dijon), Obed Nkambadio (Lille), and Paris FC’s Lucas Chevalier

The Lille defense is composed of Bafode Diakite, Maxime Esteve, Bradley Locko, Castello Lukeba, Kiliann Sildillia, Adrien Truffert, and Leny Yoro. Bernese is the other Lille defender.

Midfielders: Montpellier’s Joris Chotard, Rennes’ Desire Doue, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Manu Kone, Stuttgart’s Enzo Millot, Nice’s Khephren Thuram, Chelsea’s Lesley Ugochukwu, and Paris Saint-Germain’s Warren Zaire-Emery

This is the forward lineup for PSG, Rennes, Lyon, Crystal Palace, Bayern Munich, and Bradley Barcola: Arnaud Kalimuendo, Alexandra Lacazette, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Michael Olise, and Mathys Tel.
