John Obi Mikel has come clean about Sir Alex Ferguson’s forgiveness of him, over twenty years after he spurned Manchester United for Chelsea.
During a hurriedly scheduled news conference in 2005, the former Nigerian international was even spotted wearing the club shirt, marking his initial signing with the Red Devils.

Additionally, Mikel revealed to talkSPORT that he had inked a pre-contract with Manchester United before to his 18th birthday.
With United’s help, Mikel was able to sign a four-year deal without consulting his representation, and the midfielder was expected to join at Old Trafford in January 2006.
