Just over a minute into the game, the host team finally broke the deadlock when Eriksen found Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at the near post for an easy finish after Sweden’s defense was caught sleeping at the game’s first corner.

Just seven minutes later, Alexander Isak scored Sweden’s swift response, collecting a blocked shot from Jens Cajuste and slamming it past Frederik Ronnow in the Danish goal. The red-clad spectators were expecting that to be the start of an onslaught.
