Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper for Argentina, gave his immediate response to Kylian Mbappe’s recent statements regarding the World Cup and the Euro.
Emiliano Martinez, the goalkeeper for the Argentine national team, showed that he did not agree with Kylian Mbappe when the French striker referred to the European Championship as a competition that is more difficult to win than the FIFA World Cup. It is important to note that Mbappe’s France was defeated by Martinez’s Argentina in the final of the 2022 World Cup.
Mbappe made the following statement prior to France’s participation in the 2024 European Championship: “The Euros are more difficult to win than the World Cup because the matches are played against teams that are already familiar to France.”
In my opinion, the Euro is a more challenging competition to win than the World Cup. Despite the fact that the World Cup is a more stressful competition. In contrast, all of the teams in this area are familiar with one another because we compete against one another on a regular basis. The football is extremely similar to the football in terms of tactics.

The above statement did not seem to satisfy Martinez, who immediately responded (according to journalist Gaston Edul, translated from Spanish): “This year’s Copa America will be more difficult than last year, but not There’s nothing more difficult than the World Cup. You have to play in different locations, you have to travel every three days, it’s very hot, you train in the heat, you play the final after being away from home for 40 days… There’s a lot of wear and tear.”

France – considered one of the brightest candidates for the championship, Deschamps’ team is placed in Group D with Poland, the Netherlands and Austria. Mbappe and his teammates will have their opening match against Austria in Dusseldorf on June 17.
Meanwhile, Argentina opens its Copa America title defense against Canada on June 20 in Atlanta. Goalkeeper Martinez is also aiming for his third consecutive major tournament championship after winning Copa America 2021 and FIFA World Cup 2022.
