6 saves, 100% aerial wins: Saliba forced the French coach to think again after receiving the Most Valuable Player of the match

Bringing his brilliant form at Arsenal to the French team, William Saliba made it difficult for coach Didier Deschamps to waste him on the bench at the EURO 2024 finals.

This morning, the French team had a rehearsal against Canada before the start of the EURO 2024 finals. Despite being rated higher, “Les Bleus” was held to a scoreless draw by their opponents.

The results at Matmut Atlantique are unlikely to make the representative of the continent happy, but for William Saliba, this is an excellent individual performance. On the day coach Didier Deschamps arranged to play the entire match, the Arsenal midfielder became the best player of the match.

Statistics from AFC Stuff show that Saliba did not let any Canadian player pass throughout the 90 minutes. The 23-year-old star rescued danger 6 times, had 8 dispute situations and achieved an absolute 100% aerial combat success rate.

Defensively solid, Saliba also plays an important role in the French team’s play of deploying the ball from the backline with 76 passes with an accuracy of up to 95%.
