The Daily Mail reports that this summer, Manchester United may add Nice center back Jean-Clair Todibo to their roster, joining Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite.
After Thursday night’s personal terms agreement with Branthwaite, the Red Devils’ management is likely to begin negotiations with the Toffees.
During the summer transfer window, the club may want to add another central defender to their roster. They reportedly still have Todibo as a potential choice.
Todibo may be signed to a bargain contract.
United did not have the financial means to pursue a transfer of the Frenchman last summer, despite persistent rumours to the contrary.
A possible move was something that Todibo was wary of as well. Despite his reservations about the project, he was pleased to stay on at Nice for another year.
This summer, everything changed. The club may look at signing a right-footed center back to replace World Cup winner Raphael Varane after his departure.
At PSV, Branthwaite played right center defense, although Erik ten Hag could rather have a specialist. Branthwaite is primarily left-footed.

During his previous season, he averaged 74 completions a game while maintaining a perfect passing record.
With 1.9 tackles per match, the ex-Barça player won 60% of his duels. On a per-game basis for Nice, he produced an astounding 7.1 ball recoveries and 3.1 clearances.
Even though he preserved 14 clean sheets in France’s top division, Nice were unable to qualify for the Champions League.
Todibo, a defender with “incredible potential” according to manager Francesco Farioli, has the option to leave the club for a sum of approximately £21 million.
