Controversial revelation identifies six untouchable stars at Ratcliffe’s Manchester United, leaving Bruno Fernandes in jeopardy
While six other stars were said to be untouchable at Old Trafford this summer, Bruno Fernandes is not one of them. This means he may not play for Manchester United next season.
Since joining Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, Fernandes has been a sensational performer. His initial transfer fee of £47 million, which might have increased to £68 million with add-ons, was more than justified by the central attacking midfielder’s excellent performance.
With 79 goals and 66 assists in 233 games for Manchester United, Fernandes is the team’s go-to creator. He captained United to FA Cup triumph in 2023–24.

The fan base would be thrilled if Fernandes signed a contract extension and stayed at Manchester United until June 2026, as his current deal only runs until then.

The captain, however, was allegedly on Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s list of players for whom he would consider offers in April. Among such players, only Rasmus Hojlund, Kobbie Mainoo, and Alejandro Garnacho were thought to be immune to the possible overhaul.
In June, reporter David McDonnell broke the news that Fernandes is still not on the list of Manchester United stars who are supposedly “not for sale.”
Lisandro Martinez and Andre Onana joined the group last summer, while the youthful three of Garnacho, Mainoo, and Hojlund are still there. Ratcliffe will not be selling his sixth and last star, Diogo Dalot.
