Early in the game, Denmark rushed the field, and the ball rolled almost completely to Slovenia’s side. Up to 74% of the time, Denmark had possession of the ball.
The first dangerous chance, meanwhile, came from Slovenia when striker Benjamin Sesko took a wild attempt from outside the penalty area. Sadly, the ball narrowly missed the goal.

Slovenia pressed forward after giving up a goal to try and equalize. They came up with a number of scenarios that made the Danish defense difficult. Denmark controlled the second half and opened up a lot of scary possibilities. In the 65th minute, Rasmus Hojlund scored from close range. Jan Oblak, the Slovenian goalie, made an incredible save. Slovenia responded in exactly two minutes with a brilliant attack, but Adam Gnezda Cerin’s header from close range was misstated.
In the 74th minute, Slovenia was awarded a very dangerous ball from a direct free kick; nevertheless, Andraz Sporar failed to score despite being less than five meters from the opponent’s goal. Benjamin Sesko stunned the Danish goalkeeper with a powerful long-range effort in the 76th minute, but it struck the right post and bounced out.
Slovenian supporters, albeit still dissatisfied, used a corner kick to tie the score at one. After his teammate’s cross, Erik Janza struck a Danish player with a powerful shot that changed direction and rendered goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel helpless. The final score of the contest was thus.
