The second match in the group stage of the 2024 European Championship will be between Croatia and Albania. After going into the first match pointless, both sides must win or draw to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Croatia attempted to quicken the pace of play after unexpectedly giving up the first goal. But Albania’s thick defenses made this impossible. Livakovic made a sensational save in a goal-scoring opportunity against the Albanian striker in the 31st minute, preventing Croatia from conceding a second goal.

Nothing changed in the second half. Even though they had the advantage in possession, Croatia were unable to mount consistent attacks on the Albanian goal. On the other hand, they scored a surprising equalizer in the 74th minute courtesy of Kramaric’s genius, bringing the score to 1-1. Kramaric deftly controlled the ball as he entered the Albanian penalty area and shot a light shot into the near corner, eluding goalie Strakosha.
Immediately following it, Croatia’s good fortune persisted. The ball went right into the Albanian net after Susic booted it off the leg of the Albanian defender, but it struck the leg of the returning Klaus Gjasula. This happened after Budimir attempted to send a cross. Croats win by a score, 2-1.

In a breathtaking pursuit, the fugitive became a hero as he helped Albania to a last-minute draw against Croatia (picture 2).With the score tied at two-all, both teams’ prospects of moving on were, albeit, somewhat dampened. Obviously, dropping a crucial point in the closing minute made Croatia feel even worse.
