England continued their poor form in the first round when they could not overwhelm the excellent Denmark, and if it were not for luck and the excellence of goalkeeper Pickford, Southgate’s army would not have been able to get a single point before entering the final round.2

England showed why they were rated higher when they pressed Denmark in the first minutes. The mobility on the two wings helped the “Three Lions” have many situations to threaten Kasper Schmeichel’s goal, and Southgate’s army converted the opportunity into a goal in such a situation.
In the 18th minute, Kyle Walker, with his terrifying speed, punished the mistake of the Danish defender, and the 34-year-old player had an accurate cross for captain Harry Kane to open the score of the match.

With the lead, it seemed that England would play with more excitement, but the “Three Lions” unexpectedly let the game fall into the hands of their opponents. The “Tin Soldiers” controlled the game and had many situations of firing at Pickford’s goal.
After tireless efforts, Danish fans had the opportunity to celebrate a goal with a beautiful finish by Morten Hjulmand in the 34th minute, bringing the match back to the starting line.

England’s nightmare did not end as Southgate’s team continuously lost the ball and put the goal on alert, but there were no more goals and the first half ended with the score draw.
In the second half, England once again pushed up their formation to search for a goal. However, the most notable highlight was Phil Foden’s shot that hit the post in the 56th minute.
Southgate then decided to strengthen the attack with extremely high-quality changes. Conor Gallagher, Jarrod Bowen, Eberechi Eze and Ollie Watkins were brought on the field, but the dangerous attacks only stopped at the level of opportunities.

Pushing forward in search of a goal, the “Three Lions” almost paid the price when Denmark had sharp counter-attacks, and only luck and Pickford’s talent helped England avoid conceding a goal.
The two teams did not score any more goals in the second half, ending the match with a score of 1-1.
Despite only winning 1 point, England is still firmly at the top of Group C with 4 points, while Denmark has 2 points after the first 2 rounds, equal to Slovenia.
