Ramus Hojlund texted Kobbie Mainoo, a teammate at Manchester United, after Denmark and the favored England of Euro 2024 drew 1-1 on Thursday.
In their second Euro 2024 match in Germany, England struggled to a 1-1 tie with Denmark, leaving fans perplexed by the seemingly nonexistent tactics.
Gareth Southgate’s team took an early and rightful lead, but then seemed to deliberately refuse to play any kind of forward football. It was a lot like the first game against Serbia.
Following a great deal of pressure from Denmark, Morten Hjulmand’s spectacular long-range strike gave Jordan Pickford no chance just before halftime. This handed the Danes what they deserved. From an England perspective, the second half was no better; Watkins and Saka had a number of half chances, but overall, Denmark appeared to be the more dangerous team.

The young player’s performance was very similar to his matches for Manchester United this year, as Hojlund was not involved in any of Denmark’s 16 shots on goal.
Despite England’s midfield problems, Man United’s only representatives throughout the match were Christian Eriksen and Hojlund from Denmark. Kobbie Mainoo did not enter the game.
Hojlund wrote his clubmate a message on Instagram after the game.
He said: “At least it won’t get awkward with Kobbie next training”
Although Southgate substituted Mainoo for Conor Gallagher in the closing minutes of the match against Serbia, Mainoo seems to be Southgate’s backup option off the bench.
