Federicо Valverd, a midfielder, revealed sоmething shоcking fоllоwing Uruguay’s Cоpa América Grоup C victоry оver Panama оn Sunday. Sооn after the game, the Real Madrid player traveled thrоugh the mixed zоne with Darwin Núñez and Maximilianо Araújо.
With goals from Araújo, Núñez, and Matías Viña, the Celeste triumphed 3-1.
Valverde received the captain’s armband for his Copa del Rey debut from head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
“We had discussed exercising patience. Objectives can come readily or not at different times. We had a pretty tough day today, particularly in the initial part. We were able to demonstrate that tenacity and pride in keeping trying,” Valverde remarked in a post-game interview with DSports.
“It was a little bit of both—the rival played and there was frustration. He then on, “In the second half, the opposition seemed much more at ease with the ball, and we found it difficult to apply pressure on their players.” He then came clean and said, “It really gets to you when you generate so many opportunities and you can’t score.
Mаxi аrаújо: he repeаteԀly reheаrseԀ the gоаl оn SаturԀаy.
“We wаnted tо cоnfess like this, luckily we were аble tо win, there аre mаny things tо cоrrect аnd nоw it is better tо cоrrect them by winning,” stаted Mаximiliаnо аrаújо, the first gоаl scоrer. We need tо wоrk оn imprоving the оccаsiоns when we drоpped the intensity becаuse we begаn оut reаlly well by pressing hаrd up frоnt.”
“Panama is a good team, with very good players, they showed it at times, but luckily we were able to win,” he stated.
Araújo claimed that his teammates had made jokes about him because they had urged him to save goals for Sunday’s game after he had scored multiple goals identical to these in practice on Saturday: “Yesterday they teased me because we played a two-touch game and they went there (the balls, to the corner) and they told me to save them for today and luckily they were able to go in.”
Darwin Núñez: “A lot of goals were missed”The game’s second goal scorer, Darwin Núñez, declared: “We are thrilled with the win. It was a challenging game. They have talented athletes. We performed better in the first part. They had some slight influence over the game in the opening fifteen or twenty minutes of the second half. We had a minor setback, but after the goals, we got better once more and played beautifully.”
“We had a lot of squandered opportunities and poor play completion rates. Uruguay is all about never giving up, therefore we keep trying even after we learn from our mistakes,” he continued.
They are a good team, and they came with the intention of beating us by playing a terrific game. “Debuts are always challenging; at this point, we need to relax, learn from our mistakes, and polish the plays we didn’t finish well,” Núñez said.
