OFFICIAL NOW ✅: Arsenal complete their first major transfer deal as £70m Star rejects last-minute offers from Man City and Liverpool to sign for Arsenal on a 6-contract deal year

Think back to January when Arsenal was in desperate need of a center-forward. Their lack of a reliable striker during the festive period was a key factor that likely cost them the league title.

In December, Arsenal faced West Ham and, despite having 30 attempts at goal, they failed to score and lost the match. This highlighted their struggle to convert chances into goals during that period.

However, their fortunes changed in the second half of the season as they challenged Manchester City for the Premier League title. In their next match against West Ham, they scored six goals. Although Arsenal ultimately missed out on the title, they ended the campaign as the second-highest scorers with 91 goals.

Given this turnaround, is a new forward still necessary? While it might not be as urgent, recent reports bring some exciting news.

Arsenal’s Search for a New StrikerInitially, it seemed that Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko would join Arsenal this summer. The RB Leipzig forward had a reasonable release clause, and it appeared that Arsenal just needed to pay the fee to secure the move. However, Sesko is now set to stay in Germany and sign a new deal with Leipzig.

Consequently, Arsenal has shifted their focus to Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres. Their interest in the Sporting striker has been known for some time, but now they have intensified their pursuit. Reports suggest that Gyokeres is now “on the verge” of signing with Arsenal, indicating that the club is close to securing his services.
