On the evening of 25 to the morning of 26 (Vietnam time), France entered the final match of Group D Euro 2024 against Poland.

Determined to secure top spot in the group to avoid facing tough opponents in the round of 16, Les Bleus entered the match with great determination and put a lot of pressure on Poland’s field.

However, Mbappe was quite unlucky when he continuously missed many good opportunities. Meanwhile, Poland, despite playing low, still had dangerous counter-attacks.

If he had been more careful, Lewandowski could have put the ball into the French net in the final minutes of the first half.

After the break, France was still the more dominant team, controlling most of the ball.

In the 56th minute, Kiwior fouled Dembele in the penalty area and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. From 11m away, Mbappe easily fooled the Polish goalkeeper to score the first goal at Euro 2024.

With the goal to take the lead, France played quite confidently and continued to put pressure on the opponent’s field. On the other hand, Poland showed their tenacity when they had strong counter-attacks.

In the 75th minute, Upamecano fouled Swiderski in the penalty area. After consulting VAR, the referee decided to award Poland a penalty.

After missing his first penalty kick due to Maignan moving off the line early, Lewandowski was allowed to take the penalty again. On his second attempt from the spot, Lewy finished with a powerful shot to equalize for Poland.

The remaining minutes of the match saw France push up their formation, Deschamps’s army overwhelmingly attacking. However, Poland defended very well and kept the score.

In the end, France were held to a 1-1 draw by Poland after 90 minutes of play. This result saw Les Bleus finish Group D in second place. Mbappe and his teammates will face the second-placed team in Group E in the round of 16.
