Our first goal has been accomplished. Despite the fact that we came in second, we still managed to secure the spot we had hoped for. The launch of a brand-new contest is imminent.

France would have avoided drawing Portugal, Spain, and Germany if they had won their group, making their loss all the more devastating.

The 2022 World Cup runners-up will have to step up their game today and in their other group matches if they want a shot at winning the tournament. They’ve been sloppy and lackluster at times.

Even before this game, Poland had already been eliminated. They were the first team to go out after losing their first two matches. Getting this win gave Michal Probierz’s team a chance to feel good about themselves.

“It is a pity that we didn’t manage to qualify from our group,” Probierz stated. “We competed as equals against the runners-up of the last World Cup.”

It was Griezmann who plummetedNot only did France’s lineups include the masked Mbappe, who was absent in their 0-0 tie with the Netherlands, but Antoine Griezmann was strangely omitted from the starting lineup as well.Bradley Barcola, a winger for Paris Saint-Germain, made his national team debut instead.

In the first half, Lewandowski had a great opportunity to score in the stadium where he first became famous a decade ago, but he missed the target after heading a cross from Piotr Zielinski.

During the first half, Mbappe had trouble making an impression, pausing to tweak his mask here and there and taking it off entirely during a drinks break in the scorching heat.

Instead of Wojciech Szczesny, who will retire from the Polish national team shortly after the Euros, Theo Hernandez started in goal for France and was the first player to challenge Lukasz Skorupski.

Meanwhile, Mbappe began to really shine as the first half drew to a close.

Two times he had a rapid one-on-one with Barcola on the left flank, but both times the goalkeeper made a diving save.

Just after the break, Skorupski dove to his left to block a curler by Mbappe, but he was helpless to prevent the penalty that broke the tie on 56 minutes.

Before Dembele’s burst of speed on the right and Jakub Kiwior’s chop, Dembele’s final product was practically nonexistent.

It didn’t stop Poland, though; replacement Karol Swiderski earned a penalty after Dayot Upamecano tripped him.

After being enticed to the video assistant referee’s (VAR) screen, the official reversed his decision and pointed to the spot, instead of waving play on.

After a clumsy run-up, Maignan made a diving stop from Lewandowski’s initial effort, but the Barcelona striker wasted no time scoring on his second try.
