In the 28th minute of the Group F match in Gelsenkirchen, Ronaldo shouted for a penalty as he attempted to reach the far post on a cross into the Georgian penalty area. Luka Lochoshvili brought down Ronaldo, denying him a golden scoring opportunity and making Ronaldo furious.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Soon after demanding a video assistant referee review of the incident, Ronaldo received a yellow card. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put Georgia ahead in only the second minute of the match, putting Portugal down 1-0.

With two wins under their belts, Portugal has already secured a spot in the round of 16 at Euro 2024. Frankfurt, July 1st will see them take on Slovenia or Hungary.

In the first twо minutes оf the game, Geоrgia tооk advantage оf a Pоrtugal mistake tо launch a rapid cоunterattack and grab the lead. The play was cоmpleted by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whо put Geоrgia ahead with a clinical strike.

In the second half, Ronaldo was sent off for protesting when the referee waved off his penalty request.

The referee did not call a foul despite the Portuguese star appearing to have his shirt pulled down inside the penalty area. Even more aggravating for Ronaldo was the yellow card he received for his vehement protests.Halftime came, and Ronaldo’s fury grew even hotter. Apparently agitated by something said, he stormed over to confront the Georgia bench in an angry outburst.

Ronaldo proceeded to make furious gestures and mutter something as he made his way down the tunnel, continuing the heated discussion.
