Ecuador recovered from a dismal 2-1 loss to Venezuela in their opening match of the Copa América, which saw captain Enner Valencia sent off in the first half, to win a well-executed 3-1 over Jamaica.

Where the goals would come from without Valencia in the lineup was one of the main concerns following that first loss. Kendry Páez, of course, is the solution!

Granted, Kendry scored his goal from the penalty spot, complete with a celly from Cold Palmer, but he could have easily scored a couple more goals with a little more luck. He had efforts go just over the bar twice in the first half, and then in the second, he dragged a shot from a promising position wide of the near post. In stoppage time on the counter, Ecuador ensured the victory, ending the 17-year-old’s day in the 88th minute.
