According to rumors in Italy, Milan has started a fresh round of negotiations with Chelsea in an attempt to recruit Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Lukaku cost £98 million when he was signed by Chelsea in 2021, but the club is eager to sell the attacker permanently this summer. Lukaku was loaned to Serie A team Roma the previous season.
Lukaku is being chased by Napoli and Milan ahead of the 2019–20 season, but Chelsea is requesting a minimum payment of £25 million.Given that Napoli is not now in a position to discuss a contract, Milan has realized that timing is everything in their pursuit of the Belgian international, according to Sky Sports in Italy.
Arsenal and Chelsea are two teams that are interested in Lukaku, but Napoli’s pursuit of the Nigerian player depends on their ability to offload star player Victor Osimhen this summer.A fresh round of negotiations has begun because Milan wants to work out a deal with Chelsea as soon as possible and Napoli has to sell Osimhen first in order to free up finances.
Both offers are reportedly appealing to Lukaku, with Napoli giving the chance to collaborate with Antonio Conte, the former head coach of Inter.Milan, who can already match Chelsea’s demand of £25 million, is apparently still hesitant to sign the attacker for that amount. The forward is now representing Belgium internationally at the European Championship.
Joshua Zirkzee, a striker for Bologna, is still Milan’s top transfer target for this summer.
