Official: Ipswich Town signs Chelsea’s Omari Hutchinso

The youthful winger Omari Hutchinson of Chelsea completed his transfer from Ipswich Town for a club record £20 million, plus an additional £2.5 million in add-ons. The sell-on provision in the agreement, estimated to be worth 25%, will benefit Chelsea from any future moves.

Despite his clear talent, the 20-year-old will now attempt to live up to his word away from the Bridge.

Ipswich Town’s head coach Kieran McKenna, who showed a lot of faith in Hutchinson during the Championship season the year before, will surely continue to do so as they prepare for the challenge of holding onto their Premier League berth. The Jamaican international’s permanent move is a significant advancement for his career, and he will be looking to maintain his strong play at Ipswich after helping the team gain promotion the year before.
