The 16-year-old midfield sensation Konstantinos Karetsas of KRC Genk has reportedly caught the attention of Real Madrid.
Tell me about Konstantinos Karetsas.As a young player, Karetsas played for Genk in Belgium. He is now 16 years old and is an attacking midfielder. After leaving his boyhood club in 2020 to attend the Anderlecht academy, the promising youngster made a triumphant return in January 2023.
At the tender age of sixteen, Karetsas has already put in 20 appearances for Genk’s reserve team, where he has scored six goals and assisted on five more.The adolescent prodigy, who has the versatility to play either as a number ten or a central midfielder, has also broken into the senior setup of the Belgian team, where he has contributed one assist in four games.
The Greek-born Karetsas is a member of the Belgian Under-17 national team and has chosen to play for his country at the international level.
Several of Europe’s best teams have taken notice of 16-year-old Karetsas after hearing rumors of Real Madrid’s intense interest in him.
Indeed, the story claims that Real Madrid have been keeping a close eye on the boy for some time, and that their attention has recently been focused more intensely on him.
Genk, a Belgian club, are reportedly in the midst of extending the teenager’s existing deal until 2026.
