After United’s left backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were both out for extended periods with injuries, the club brought in Reguilon to help out.

Impressive efforts down the left wing earned the 27-year-old a total of 12 games for the Red Devils.

Spurs are eager to get rid of Reguilon during the summer transfer window because his contract with the parent club is about to end next year.

Meanwhile, United are actively pursuing a transfer of De Ligt from Bayern Munich and are making moves during the window to finalize the deal.United are still hoping to sign Branthwaite to play on the left side of central defense with De Ligt, and they haven’t given up hope of selling players to earn the necessary finances.

Everton turned down an initial offer of £38 million plus £5 million in add-ons for the 22-year-old, but they may have to listen to bids around £70 million if they are forced to sell.

United are considering a higher offer for Branthwaite, who has reportedly become more frustrated with the negotiations’ lack of progress, but they are not likely to go to that level.

After receiving the all-clear to begin his role as sporting director, United are set to ramp up their transfer operations, targeting a striker and defensive midfielder among others.
