Defender who just impressed at Euro 2024 – Riccardo Calafiori has agreed personal terms to join Arsenal this summer.The 22-year-old player played well in his first major tournament with the Italian team. Unfortunately, the Euro 2020 champion soon stopped in the eighth round against Switzerland.

At the tournament in Germany, Calafiori played all 3 group stage matches, mainly taking on the role of left-sided centre-back in a 3-man defense.

The high form that Calafiori showed immediately attracted the attention of many big teams across Europe, including Chelsea and PSG.

However, Arsenal is gaining the upper hand in the race to sign Riccardo Calafiori.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Calafiori has agreed personal terms with the Gunners.

Accordingly, the Italian defender agreed to a 5-year contract, earning a salary of 3.4 million pounds/year. However, Arsenal has not yet agreed on a transfer fee with Bologna.

Sources from the Italian press said that Bologna recently rejected the initial offer worth 40 million pounds that the London team sent.

Currently, the Serie A representative hopes to earn at least 50 million pounds from the above deal, because they will have to pay half the transfer fee to Basel – Calafiori’s old team.
