As of June 24th, the latter’s substantial release clause—worth an estimated £100 million—had expired, giving Newcastle United the power to negotiate the conditions of his departure at their leisure.

The June 30 deadline, which was scheduled to be met by the Magpies, was now passed, because of the PSR requirements. The sale of Yankuba Minteh and Eliott Anderson for large sums appears to have resolved Newcastle United’s financial problems.

Many elite clubs were interested in signing Guimaraes, including Manchester City and Arsenal. He was supposedly linked to a move to La Liga. Although Manchester City had a better chance of signing him, the Gujnners were ready to jump in if Newcastle United lowered their asking price.

The Gunners were initially interested in Isak, the Swede, but it seems that Mikel Arteta has already shifted their focus to another profile. Also, the Magpies are sure they can sign the striker to a new contract, putting an end to rumors once and for all.

Despite Chelsea’s apparent interest, the general public believes that Isak is content with his situation at Newcastle and that the club has no plans to trade the Swedish striker. The Magpies will have a successful summer retaining their enigmatic combination, as there are worries about the London side’s spending mood regarding Isak, which is likely to exceed £100 million.
