Bayern Munich Club has officially recruited midfielder Joao Palhinha from Fulham for 50 million euros, excluding fees. The Portuguese player will sign a 4-year contract, until June 2028.
Palhinha has signed a contract with Bayern until 2028
Palhinha was initially scheduled to move to the Allianz Arena last summer but a last-minute change caused the deal to fall through. Accordingly, Fulham could not find a replacement for him so they decided not to let this player leave.
Palhinha made 79 appearances for Fulham over two seasons, scoring 8 goals. He is considered one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and has long been a target of Bayern.
And recently, the Gray Tigers were successful in their second attempt to buy the Portuguese player. They spent 50 million euros plus 5 million euros in add-ons to get the midfielder they craved.
Sharing after joining, Palhinha said: “This is one of the happiest days of my life. Now I am playing for one of the greatest clubs in Europe, this is my dream to become came true for me and I’m very proud of it.”

Max Eberl, Bayern’s sporting director, shared: “Joao Palhinha was highly appreciated by Bayern last summer but unfortunately could not recruit him. We have kept in contact with him since then. Joao really wants to come.” Bayern and we need players like that. He is an important pillar for our future.”
“Joao has once again proven himself at EURO 2024 and has a lot of experience fighting at the top. He will bring us even more stability in the center,” he added.
