Real Madrid is lacking a midfield player after Toni Kroos retired at the end of the previous campaign, and they may be looking to sign one. Now, Carvajal has disclosed that he has been unsuccessful in persuading Rodri, his Spain teammate, to quit City in order to play in the 15-time Champions League.
Carvajal stated in an interview with El Partidazo de COPE: “Yes, without a doubt, I tell him every day to come to Madrid because we need you and you are from here in Madrid; leave Manchester, there is no sun.
“Yes, well, I have a contract; there are no clauses here,” he responds. It makes me hesitate, it makes me wait, but it’s definitely the signing. Being Spanish, I believe it would fit in Madrid just right.”One of the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or this year is Rodri, who has shown to be one of the best defensive midfielders in recent years. The Spaniard has four Premier League titles under his belt in addition to an FA Cup and one Champions League.
UP NEXT FOR RODRI AND CARVAJAL?The Spanish team will now play England in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday, July 14. Following a little break, Rodri and Carvajal will split up to focus on their preseason preparations.
An intriguing answer from an Arsenal target to rumors about Real Madrid’s future
After Toni Kroos, Nacho Fernandez, and Joselu Mato left, Real Madrid is not anticipated to lose any more of its key first team players. It cannot be totally ruled out, though, as growing rumors over Andriy Lunin’s future have surfaced for the second summer in a row.
Lunin was poised to leave Real Madrid last summer after the team’s managers decided he wasn’t talented enough. A year later, things are very different. He showed that he was more than capable filling in for Thibaut Courtois during the previous campaign, but Los Blancos’ main issue is that he wants to stay a starter.
That won’t occur at Real Madrid because Courtois will remain the team’s top player moving ahead. This has sparked intense rumors that Lunin would leave, and he has fanned those rumors further in an interview with Marca.
“аre I gоing tо stаy аt Reаl Mаdrid? Let’s investigаte further. оf cоurse I wаnt tо gо оn, but аll I cаn sаy, thоugh, is thаt Reаl Mаdrid’s trаnsаctiоn went smооthly. аnd thаt they nоw оwn it. I cаn оnly speаk tо thаt regаrding my future.
“Becаuse Cоurtоis is аmоng the tоp gоаlkeepers in the wоrld, I аm аwаre thаt things will get cоmplicаted. Hоwever, this аlsо strengthens аnd imprоves my mentаl heаlth. Nаturаlly, I wаnt tо plаy аnd rаnk first.
Lunin has been connected to Arsenal recently, although if he moved there, he probably wouldn’t be ahead of David Raya. Over the next few weeks, it will be interesting to monitor his status at Real Madrid.
