The official unveiling of the Portugal Under-21 international as Chelsea’s newest signing took place on Friday afternoon, following his completion of his transfer from Swiss side Basel.
In the upcoming week, Veiga will begin working with head coach Enzo Maresca and his new teammates. He is a physically intimidating player who is also a flexible defender who can play in midfield, at fullback, or at center back.
Prior to that, Renato had his initial impressions of Cobham, and we have selected a few of our favorite photos from his arrival at our training facility…
Good luck in the 2024 Euro final to a Chelsea player!
Conor Gallagher will be representing Ireland in Sunday’s Euro 2024 final match against Spain in Berlin, and Chelsea has taken to social media to wish him well.
No matter what happens, the 24-year-old and two other Chelsea players—Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella—could be part in the final. No matter what, the Blues would be guaranteed a European Champion.
After the European Championships, Chelsea will decide Gallagher’s future after he had a stellar season and led the team for most of last year. However, his contract only has one year remaining, so there are concerns about his future.
Although Gareth Southgate has started the midfielder once (in a match against Germany), he has spent the most of his time on the bench, accumulating 118 minutes of playing time.
It’s not out of the question that Gallagher may make an appearance, whether it’s in the last minutes to help seal the deal or in extra time to inject some life and energy into the match.Chelsea has taken to social media to send their best wishes to Gallagher ahead of what is likely to be the most important game of his career, as well as to provide some statistics from his performances in Germany.
Even though he may not be granted a new deal just yet, Chelsea fans will be hoping to see more of Gallagher in blue next season.
