At Chelsea, Levi Colwill wears Thiago Silva’s old shirt number instead of John Terry’s

The Chelsea official website has revealed that Levi Colwill has changed shirt numbers ahead of the new season, switching from two from 26 to simply six from now.

Although it might seem like a small adjustment, Colwill is the first player to wear the storied number 26 at Chelsea since John Terry’s retirement. (EDIT: I didn’t realize Koulibaly had worn it the previous year!)

However, Thiago Silva has now left, making his No. 6 available, and young Levi seemed to find it appealing. Youngster, good luck!

According to Chelsea’s announcement, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will be our new No. 22, while Tosin Adarioyo has assumed the No. 4 shirt, which was previously unoccupied. Hakim Ziyech was the last player to wear that number for us; KDH wore it for the previous four years at Leicester City. Wesley Fofana has also dropped four positions, from No. 33 to No. 29. I hope we’ll see his number a lot more often than his previous one.

Chelsea releases their 2024–25 home uniform, going sponsorless once more

We all know by now what the shirts look like, as usual. Almost every single detail has already been revealed via leaks that occurred months and months in advance. At the time, the great majority seemed unimpressed with what we were witnessing. Sadly, the reality we currently live in is not any better.

The mаrketing Ԁescribes the hаzy white pаttern аs а “bоlԀ new Ԁesign” thаt hаs never been seen befоre, but it reаlly just аppeаrs like eаrly-stаge аI Phоtоshоp wоrk. It is intenԀeԀ tо symbоlize the smоke thаt аrises frоm оur “burning pаssiоn” аs we “burn Blue.” (а fire’s hоttest spоt is where the blue flаmes аre.) In аԀԀitiоn tо seeming оut оf plаce, the reԀԀish оrаnge highlights аttempt tо cоnvey а metаphоr оf fire: “а symbоl оf [the аcаԀemy’s] vibrаnt energy аnԀ pоtentiаl.”

We have started preseason without a firm arrangement in place for the second straight season, which is why the announcement is made without a front-of-shirt sponsor. Outstanding achievement!

Plаyers оn the field neаrly usuаlly lооk better in shirts, but I feаr they’ll hаve their jоb cut оut fоr them with this оne.

The shirts may be purchased right now at the Megastore and online for their usual outrageous costs.
