Yoro, who is eighteen years old, is likely to depart Lille during the last two weeks of the transfer season. The French club approved United’s offer of approximately €65 million (£55 million) last week, while Madrid is also reportedly in discussions to acquire the central defender.

Supposedly, the player’s favored destination is the Spanish capital. That is why Liverpool has lately toned down their pursuit, but United is refusing to give in just yet to the reigning European champions. Now, according to French football journalist Nabil Djellit, United is reportedly in talks with the player over personal issues. Reports indicate that the team is making progress in negotiations to sign the teenager, with Madrid reportedly falling behind the Reds but not out of the race entirely.

These rumors surface just hours after The Athletic confirmed that United have reached an agreement with Lille for a sum and that the Spanish club has made no moves to match it. According to their sources, his club is now leaning toward a trade with the Reds because of that.

United have already negotiated personal terms with Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, but right now, it seems like convincing the player is more important than finalizing the deal. Yoro is still being courted, and it’s no secret that just one of them is expected to sign this summer.

With Everton having rejected two offers for Jarrad Branthwaite this summer, United are reportedly willing to signing three center backs, according to the Manchester Evening News. This week, Willy Kambwala joined Raphael Varane in leaving for Villarreal, and the club is reportedly “trying hard” to unload Victor Lindelof following Jonny Evans’s re-signing.
