Bayern Munich are planning to bring in two more new players to complete the perfect summer transfer window of 2024. Accordingly, they are trying to sign both Desire Doue and Xavi Simons.
Bayern are targeting both Simons and Doue
Bayern failed to win any trophies last season and parted company with manager Thomas Tuchel. They have appointed Vincent Kompany as their new boss and have made a number of quality additions for the 2024/25 season.
The Bavarians have signed Michael Olise from Crystal Palace for €53m and Joao Palhinha from Fulham for €51m. Hiroki Ito has also joined from Stuttgart for €23.5m.
However, Bayern are not ready to stop just yet. Journalist Florian Plettenberg claims that the Bundesliga giants are trying to sign both Desire Doue and Xavi Simons.
Doue, 19, shone for Rennes last season and is also attracting interest from PSG. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said the youngster will decide his future in the coming days. Bayern, meanwhile, have had their first bid rejected by Rennes, but are planning to return with another.
Meanwhile, Simons is also planning to leave PSG. The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Man United. But Bayern are determined to beat the Red Devils to the Dutchman.
The German side see Simons not just as a winger but also as a number 10 – and will deploy him in midfield alongside Jamal Musiala and Palhinha. Plettenberg says Bayern could consider Dani Olmo, who shone at EURO 2024, if the move fails.
