The 20-year-old Andrey Santos is still an integral component of Chelsea’s future plans, despite the club’s decision to loan him out to RC Strasbourg for the 2024–25 season.

Since Chelsea’s ownership group also owns the Ligue 1 club, the midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with them. During his time in France’s top division, the Brazilian played in 11 games and scored once.

This came after Santos’s unsuccessful loan stint with Nottingham Forest, during which he received less playing time—crucial for a player like him at this point in his career.

This has been brought to the attention of Chelsea, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder will once again be loaned out to Strasbourg for the 2024/25 season. To be sure, the transfer journalist does not discount the Brazilian talent’s continued importance to the Premier League club’s plans.

The 20-year-old will go on preseason tour with Chelsea in the US. Santos will get an opportunity to play in five games for the Premier League club in the United States before new Blues manager Enzo Maresca heads to France.
