Starting in the friendly match against Rangers 2-0 on July 20, rookie center-back Leny Yoro impressed with his calm, solid playing style and excellent ability to read situations.

Yoro, 18, recently moved to Man Utd for 68 million USD from Lille. He played with veteran Jonny Evans in the first half of the friendly match at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Scotland.

In a situation in the first half, Yoro made an impressive sprint to successfully block a dangerous breakthrough by Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers.

Not only defending solidly, Yoro also showed the ability to launch attacks from the defense, a strength that reminded many people of Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand.

Yoro was substituted in the second half, making way for Lisandro Martinez. Speaking after the match, coach Ten Hag said he was satisfied with the performance of the 2005-born rookie.
