Starting in the friendly match against Rangers 2-0 on July 20, rookie center-back Leny Yoro impressed with his calm, solid playing style and excellent ability to read situations.
Yoro, 18, recently moved to Man Utd for 68 million USD from Lille. He played with veteran Jonny Evans in the first half of the friendly match at Murrayfield in Edinburgh, Scotland.

In a situation in the first half, Yoro made an impressive sprint to successfully block a dangerous breakthrough by Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers.
Not only defending solidly, Yoro also showed the ability to launch attacks from the defense, a strength that reminded many people of Man Utd legend Rio Ferdinand.
Yoro was substituted in the second half, making way for Lisandro Martinez. Speaking after the match, coach Ten Hag said he was satisfied with the performance of the 2005-born rookie.
This friendly also marked the return to the Man Utd squad of winger Jadon Sancho, who had a conflict with Ten Hag and was sent to Dortmund on loan last season. Like Yoro, Sancho played the first half and then left the field. There were rumors that Sancho would leave Man Utd because he could not mend his relationship with Ten Hag. However, it seems that this player has made up with the coach and can continue playing for the Old Trafford team next season.
In this match, Man Utd took the lead in the 39th minute, thanks to young striker Amad Diallo – a player who was later praised by Ten Hag. The Dutch coach also predicted that Amad will shine next season. The goal that sealed the 2-0 score was scored by substitute striker Joe Hugill in the 70th minute.
After this match, Man Utd will fly to the US to start their tour. On July 28, they will play a friendly match against Arsenal at Inglewood Stadium in California.
