Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Germany reports that Manchester United is among the clubs interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui this summer.
The 26-year-old international from Morocco is being sought after by Manchester United and is eager to join a Premier League club.
Not only have Manchester United and West Ham United initiated formal discussions with Mazraoui’s representation, but both clubs are interested in signing the Bayern star. The full-back is up for sale by the Bundesliga club. Since he has two more years left on his contract, they are willing to negotiate a price of roughly €20 million, down from their original demand of €30 million.
The Red Devils are rumoured to be interested in a number of fullbacks, including David Hancko of Feyenoord, Ben Chilwell of Chelsea, and Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham Hotspur.
With experience playing both fullback and central defender for Ajax, as well as multiple appearances in that role this season, Mazraoui has become an appealing alternative for Manchester United.
If Manchester United can satisfy Bayern’s expectations, Erik ten Hag, the manager, hopes to rejoin with the Moroccan, whom he worked with when playing for the Eredivisie club. After making 55 appearances for Bayern since joining the club in 2022, Mazraoui finished last season with four assists in 29 games in all competitions. He has contributed to the team’s success with one goal and eight assists.
Manchester United and West Ham are interested in the former Ajax star, who played 137 games in the Dutch top division and finished with 10 goals and 9 assists.
Because of his strengths as an attacker full-back who seldom misses games owing to injury, the Red Devils require Mazraoui. His skills include tackling, passing, and holding on to the ball.
The eight-time trophy winner is a great goal for Manchester United, and if Ten Hag can convince him to join the Red Devils, it would be a tremendous coup for the team’s winning mindset.
