Ratcliffe ‘bent’ on defender deal to Manchester United, as Chelsea star ‘driven’ out ‘against will’
United are ‘really’ interested in Manchester City center back Trevoh Chalobah, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ‘keen’ on adding to his center back roster this summer.
During the summer transfer window, Manchester United spent almost £90 million to acquire Leny Yoro from Lille and Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.
Could Manchester United be interested in signing Chalobah? It is believed that Manchester United will bring in a second new center-back during the summer transfer window, and the club is also considering signing a winger and a center-midfielder.
As a result, Raphael Varane has left the club after his contract expired, and in the next weeks, either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof may be sold.
Among their rumoured goals is Chelsea defender Moses Chalobah, although they are also supposedly interested in Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.
The 25-year-old defender was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the US by new head coach Enzo Maresca, leading many to believe he will depart the club this summer. The Guardian states that Chalobah “feels he is being forced out of Chelsea against his will and is expected to assess his options before deciding whether to leave.” (Chalobah, n.d.).
The ex-England U-21 defender reportedly began training with new coach Maresca and was startled to hear of his exclusion.
Many people, both in and out of the Premier League, think highly of Chalobah. Nevertheless, he is reportedly adamant about taking his time and considering all of his options before committing to a long-term transfer.
‘The camp of Chalobah is said to be quite dissatisfied with Chelsea’s choice.’
Reportedly priced between £25 million and £30 million, he has already attracted interest from Crystal Palace, Fulham, and West Ham.
Nevertheless, according to GiveMeSport, Chalobah is allegedly also being pursued by Manchester United as their new-look recruitment squad, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, searches for a new central defender.
