Legendary Manchester United player Steve Bruce draws interest from Jamaica

Strong interest from Jamaica means Manchester United veteran Steve Bruce could soon be returning to the dugout.

Two United legends—Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy bag high-profile coaching roles—have already defined the summer. The former Dutch striker has returned to Old Trafford to help Erik ten Hag, while the Englishman has been appointed manager of Plymouth Argyle.

After a break of over two years, Bruce, who covered United’s penalty area 392 times from central defense, has received an opportunity to return to the limelight in a fresh surprising management post.

Last coaching post of 63-year-old was with West Bromwich Albion in 2022.

Following a series of underwhelming performances that saw the Championship team drop into the relegation zone, West Brom terminated the former Newcastle United manager within eight months.

Bruce, with a two-decade-long leadership experience, has seen virtually little recorded demand for his offerings since then.

But The Daily Mail claims that the former United defender has lately discussed being the new head coach with authorities of the Jamaican national team.

After Heimir Hallgrimsson split ways last month, Jamaica is looking for a new gaffer.

Bruce has coached twelve different sides since 1998, but given he has never managed outside of England, the Jamaica job offers an amazing chance, to say the least.

Moreover, should things go as expected, this will be the first overseas managerial job for Englishmen.

Having said that, should Bruce assume the position, he will be in charge of overseeing several well-known personalities, in relation to Premier League supporters.

Regular players in the Jamaica team in recent times have been Michail Antonio (West Ham United), Bobby De Cordova-Reid (Leicester City), and Ethan Pinnock (Brentford).
